Located in the Nicola Valley of British Columbia, Merritt is one of only a few communities that holds a Lit-Up Christmas Parade during the evening after dark. Beginning at about 7 pm, the parade lasts up to 2 hours with most floats displaying lights, music, animated characters and people of all ages performing. Merritt's country Christmas event is usually held the last week-end of November. The parade is part of this three day event with family fun, arts, and entertainment.
