Mountainfest, the largest outdoor country music festival in Canada, takes place in sunny Merritt, BC, July 11 - 16. This year artists include: Martina McBride, Big & Rich, Randy Travis, Darryl Worley and The Triple Threat Tour of Little Texas, Blackhawk and Restless Heart. Mountainfest is the largest event of its kind in Canada. Every July the six day outdoor event occurs amidst the beauty of the softly rolling landscape of the Nicola Valley. The event provides an outdoor recreational week of the best that country music has to offer together with a familiar family atmosphere for fun, friendly get-togethers. Non-stop country music performances excite thousands of people from noon to midnight daily on three stages. Great music has always been the hallmark of Mountainfest, but there’s more… helicopter sightseeing, logger sport shows, nightly fireworks displays, food and merchandise concessions and the nightlife of downtown Merritt. Merritt, now branded "The Country Music Capital of Canada", is a one and a half hour drive from Kamloops through the beautiful Nicola Valley on Highway 2 in the Thompson Okangan Region of central British Columbia.
